The .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (also referred to as .NET Framework 3.5.1) is a prerequisite for SQL Server 2008. In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, open a Command Prompt window with administrative credentials (that is, choose Run as administrator).

To install the .NET Framework 3.5 from installation medium located in the D:sourcessxs directory, utility the following command:

DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:sourcessxs

where:

/Online aim the operating intrigue youre racing (instead of an offline Windows image).

/Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 specifies that you lack to enable the .NET Framework 3.5.
