The trick to running legacy web apps on Windows 10
Windows 10 users can run web apps that require ActiveX controls, but it entails a few tweaks--and forgoing Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft Edge, Windows 10s new default web browser, doesnt support ActiveX, DirectX filters, VML vector graphics, or VBScript. But upgrading to Windows 10 doesnt mean your organizations legacy web apps wont work.
To ensure that Windows 10 was compatible with older applications (such as those that require an ActiveX control), Microsoft included Internet Explorer 11 with the new operating system. However, before you can run ActiveX controls safely, youll need to tweak IE 11s settings.
Tweaking the settings
To get started, click IE 11s cog icon and select Internet Options (Figure A).
Next, select the Security tab in the upper-left corner and click Trusted Sites (Figure B).
Now, click the Sites button to open the dialog box shown in Figure C. Here, you can specify the trusted URLs?the ones linked to your legacy corporate apps. You can enter a specific URL or just a domain. In some instances, using a wildcard (*) and the domain is sufficient because hopefully anything running on your domain is trusted. An example would be "*.techrepublic.com." Be sure to check the box that will require server verification on https connections. When youre done, click OK.

After telling the browser what sites and domains are trusted, you have to go into the ActiveX settings and mark them enabled. To do this, click the green Trusted Sites button and then click Custom Level. Youll see 13 settings under the section labeled ActiveX Controls And Plug-ins (Figure D). Youll need to adjust all of them. Some will be marked Prompt by default, but most will be marked Disable. Go ahead and set them all to Enable. When you reach the last setting, be sure to set the File Downloads option to Enable as well.
All these settings control how your trusted web applications function, by allowing ActiveX controls to run without an issue. The File Download option lets you click within your trusted web apps and allow external files, such as PDF reports, to open from the browser.
With these changes, you can now safely run your legacy web apps on Windows 10. Just remember to adjust your ActiveX settings only for your trusted URLs. Enabling ActiveX controls on your global Internet Explorer settings is a security risk.

For those of you who are not familiar, the term sideloading is a synonym of installing an Android app into your smartphone, but specifically for applications that do not come from Google Play Store.
This kind of activity is not recommended for general users because many Android apps clad seals free / pirated but the virus particle in it. However there are times when you need to try an application that is still in the testing step of the leading developers / reliable, or also install an app that leaked before the official release.
If that scenario happens, then there is no other way except to sideloading, and here are the steps:
Step 1
Doing sideloading is easy. Simply go to Settings, then scroll down and select the option Security. Scroll down and once again find the option Unknown sources tick the option for open access applications from sources other than the installation of the Play Store.
Step 2
After opening the access, you can now download an app (or APK) from a download link.
Step 3
Once downloaded, the file will generally be located in the folder downloads on your mobile phone. Click the application that you have downloaded (usually ending in . Apk), and you usually will find a number of pop-up that asks if you want to re-verify with Google to ascertain whether the APK file contains malware, or to install as usual.
Select the first option first, and then follow the installation instructions. You will see a number of apps permissions as well as the option to install, similar to the option when installing via Play Store. Click install and after the process is successful, you can choose to tap the Done option or open the application directly from the option.
To be safe, it would be better to go back to Settings and disable / tick the option Unknown sources. " Sometimes rogue apps (even apps were downloaded in the Play Store) sudden access your phone without notifying first.
Easy enough right? Do not forget that this method should be used for applications that are on trial, not the pirated apps or paid apps that has been cracked so that you can play for free.

Ok so i did the free update to 8.1, it went ok but now i cant get to apps, pc settings.
the apps such asÿcalculator, Cam, calender all say Error.
and when i click it it say contact admin...but i am admin...and when i click on Pc Settings, the purple screen
loads but then goes right into the start menu.
and wont access the settings.
How do i fix this???
