In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

  • Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
  • Click on Boot Tab
  • Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
  • Select Network.
  • Click Apply and OK.
  • Reboot your System.

The AirPort Time Capsule (previously known as just Time Capsule), a rectangular tube standing 6.6 inches tall and 3.85 inches wide is a wireless router sold by Apple Inc which is unique among its kind with an internal hard drive featuring network-attached storage (NAS) and a residential gateway router.Unlike some other hard-drive-equipped routers, the Time Capsule uses a SATA interface to the hard drive, versus a USB-to-SATA bridge. Apple, however, declined to disclose the rotational speed of the drive?s platters and if the drive has a SATA 6 Gbps interface or a slower SATA 3 Gbps interface.It comes with a 2 TB or 3 TB single 3.5 inches Seagate Barracuda or a Western Digitals (WD) hard drive inside.

History of Time Capsule

The AirPort Time Capsule was first released on February 29, 2008, with pricing announced at US$299 (œ199) for the 500 GB version and US$499 (œ329) for the 1 TB version.The first generation Time Capsule included a full AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n wireless, an Ethernet WAN port, three Ethernet LAN ports, and one USB port. The USB port can be used for an external hard drive or a printer to be shared over the network, or both, by using a third-party USB hub.


In early 2009, Apple released the second generation Time Capsule. It offered simultaneous 802.11n dual-band operation, which allows older devices to use slower wireless speeds, without affecting the overall performance of devices that can use higher 802.11n speeds.The second generation model also included the addition of Guest Networking.The hard disk storage space of each model was doubled: capacities were 1 TB 2 TB, while the prices remained unchanged.


In October 2009, several news sites reported that many first generation Time Capsules were failing after 18 months,with some users alleging that this was due to a design failure in the power supplies. Apple confirmed that certain Time Capsules sold between February 2008 and June 2008 do not power on, or may unexpectedly turn off. Apple offered free repair or replacement to affected units.


The third generation Time Capsule was released in October 2009. The only change was a reconfiguration of the internal wireless antenna, resulting in an Apple-reported 50% increase in wireless performance and 25% increase in wireless range when compared to previous models.


The fourth generation Time Capsule, released in June 2011, increased the range of WiFi signals. The internal WiFi card was changed from a Marvell WiFi chip to a better-performing Broadcom BCM4331 chip.Apple again increased the storage space in each model as the hard drive sizes were increased to 2 TB and 3 TB. The 2 TB and 3 TB models were kept at the $299 and $499 price points.Amazon is giving $20 discount on 2 TB model which you could by just for $279.




The fifth generation Time Capsule was released in June 2013 alongside the sixth generation AirPort Extreme. This generation saw the name change to AirPort Time Capsule and to a taller form factor. 802.11ac support was added with this generation. The 2 TB model was kept at $299, but the 3 TB model dropped to $399.

Automatic Wireless Backup and File Sharing

Airport Time Capsule (TC) works smartly with Time Machine in OS X 10.5 Leopard or later to back up your Mac automatically and wirelessly, so you never have to worry about losing anything important again. Every photo. Every file. Every song. Even your apps and OS X settings are saved. AirPort Time Capsule stores it all ? up to 2TB or 3TB of data.Once it is setup on the network, it?s immediately available as a file server and Time Machine backup target. As a Time Machine target, it takes a snapshot of the entire system as an initial backup after which, only the files you?ve changed are backed up ? automatically, wirelessly and in the background. Since Time Machine continuously makes a copy of everything on your Mac ? and saves multiple versions ? you can easily access and restore previous versions of a single file, a folder or even your entire Mac.

As a file server it supports both AFP(Apple Filing Protocol) and SMB(Server Message Block) provides network access to files stored on the built-in hard drive. The 7.6.1 Time Capsule firmware enables remote access of the hard drive with an iCloud account. In the past, users needed a MobileMe account to remotely access data. Fourth generation models are available with 2 TB and 3 TB of built-in storage.


Note:- Time Capsule doesnt support external drives formatted using NTFS (Windows) and doesnt offer the option to format a connected external drive to the HFS+ (Mac) file system for you. In other words, to use an external drive with the Time Capsule, you first need to make sure its already formatted using HFS+ or FAT.

The new Time Capsule is 802.11ac  compatible with a dual-band model, capable of operating networks on both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz frequency bands. It?s equipped with six antennas located on the top of the unit, which Apple claims helps the AirPort users connect from farther distances: three transmit/receive for its 2.4GHz radio, and three transmit/receive for its 5GHz radio.


With three-stream 802.11ac technology, the Airport Time Capsule can reach data rates of up to 1.3Gbps when used with 802.11ac-enabled clients, which is triple the 802.11n standard. 802.11ac Wi-Fi also provides double the channel bandwidth with 80MHz-wide channels providing more room for data to flow faster. If youre using an 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi device, Airport Time Capsule can still optimize the connection for those Wi-Fi standards as well.


Simultaneous Dual-Band Support -Choosing the correct frequency band


No matter which band your wireless devices use, theyll automatically connect to the best available band for the fastest possible performance.

The primary difference between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies is range as the 2.4GHz frequency is able to reach farther than the 5GHz frequency.In general, the higher the frequency of a wireless signal, the shorter its range. Thus, 2.4GHz networks cover a substantially larger range than 5GHz wireless networks.When you set up your AirPort Time Capsule, it creates two high-speed Wi-Fi networks:
  • A 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) network for 802.11b, 802.11g, and 802.11n devices, such as iPhone,iPod touch, and older computers
  • A 5 GHz network for 802.11n, 802.11a, and 802.11ac devices, such as iPhone, iPad, Apple TV,and newer computers
The 2.4GHz frequency range is much more prone to interference, as it is commonly used by other wireless networks in the area, as well as cordless phones, garage door openers and other home appliances and consumer products, which is why -- 2.4Ghz is very congested resulting in dropped connections and slow data throughput.

Notes:

When choosing the band for your router, it is also important to consider the capabilities of your wireless clients. Many older laptops, tablets and other typical wireless devices still work only in the 2.4GHz band, while media streaming devices and newer phones have increasingly better adoption in the 5GHz band as well.802.11ac is available only on the 5GHz frequency band.

With 802.11ac technology comes the intelligent, powerful beamforming antenna array. Beamforming is a signal processing technique used in wireless communications, sonars and radars for directional signal transmission and reception.  And each of its clients exchange information as to their physical locations. They use this information to concentrate their radio energy to achieve the highest possible throughput.





The new  Time Capsule offered about the same range as the previous generation, up to about 270 feet away. Its effective range, however, is within approximately 150 feet or less, which is rather standard for a dual-band router. Note that Wi-Fi range varies a great deal depending on the environment. The device also passed my 24-hour stress test, during which it didnt disconnect once.

What is Safe Mode and How to start your Mac in Safe Mode


You can use safe mode to help you resolve issues that might keep your Mac from completely starting up.

What is safe mode?

Safe mode (sometimes called safe boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening. Starting your Mac in safe mode does the following:


  • Verifies your startup disk, and attempts to repair directory issues if needed
  • Only essential kernel extensions are loaded- (a.k.a. ketxs, or hardware and software drivers), No third party items 
  • Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
  • Disables user-installed fonts 
  • Deletes font caches, Kernel cache and other system cache files
  • Together, these changes can help resolve or isolate issues related to your startup disk. 

And its very simple to start your Mac in Safe Mode, either using your keyboard or by entering a command in Terminal.We will learn different way of starting your Mac in Safe Mode later in this post.

When and why should we start Mac in Safe Mode?

When you have some problem with your mac the first troubleshooting you do is restart the Mac.
Most of the time, your Mac just works after restarting.

But there will be times when a rogue app, a misbehaving service, outdated caches and other issue will cause your Mac to slow, stop starting up or exhibit other unwanted symptoms. Thankfully, Apple has provided a way to boot OS X in Safe Mode.

Although booting in Safe Mode on a daily basis?or whenever an insignificant problem arises? isn?t recommended, there are definitely instances when starting up in Safe Mode could be your last resort.

Here are some of the typical scenarios:

If your Mac doesn?t finish starting up?Certain issues might keep your Mac from completely starting up and using Safe Mode can help you resolve them.

If an app is causing issues? An app you recently installed might be the culprit, especially if it came outside the Mac App Store. Starting up in Safe Mode might help isolate the misbehaving app as it prevents certain software from automatically loading or opening.

If your Mac is running slow? Just like Windows, your Mac also creates temporary files and various caches over time which might slow down the overall performance of the operating system and apps. These unnecessary files are safely cleaned from Mac when started in safe Mode.

If your Mac has directory issues?Many, but not all issues with your Mac?s startup disk can be resolved using the built-in Disk Utility application. If you?re plagued with an issue that cannot be reproduced in Safe Mode but appears to be resolved when you start up normally, chances are it was caused by a cache or a directory issue with your startup disk that Safe Mode fixed.

How to Start your Mac in Safe Mode?

Starting up in safe mode

  1. Follow these steps to start up into safe mode.
  2. Start or restart your Mac. 
  3. Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.( Note:- If you are using a Wireless Keyboard,Make sure you press the Shift Key immediately after you hear the start up chimes sound.Bluetooth controllers will only activate after the startup chimes sound, so if the key is held before this, the key press will not be recognized. ).
  4. Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
  5. Start your Mac in Safe Mode

  6. After the Apple logo appears, it might take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your desktop. This is because your Mac performs a directory check of your startup disk as part of safe mode.

  8. To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

If youre using FileVault

If your startup disk is encrypted with FileVault, you can still hold down the Shift key immediately after powering on your Mac to start up in safe mode. You might be prompted to log in twice as part of this process ? first to unlock the startup disk, and a second time to log into the Finder. You can let go of the Shift key after you see the first login screen.


If an issue doesnt happen in safe mode

If an issue doesnt happen when your Mac is started in safe mode, try restarting again without pressing any keys at startup. If the issue appears to be resolved when you start up normally, it was possibly caused by a cache or a directory issue with your startup disk that safe mode fixed.
If you restart your Mac normally and an issue comes back when you reach your desktop, try disabling any login items that automatically open when you log in.

If your Mac restarts or shuts down in safe mode

If your Mac automatically restarts in safe mode, OS X might have found an issue that its trying to fix. 
Safe mode performs a directory check of your startup disk, similar to what happens when you choose to verify or repair a disk using Disk Utility. If OS X finds an issue, the directory on your startup disk is repaired and your Mac restarts. 
If your Mac turns itself off when you start up in safe mode, check the power connection on your Mac to make sure its plugged in securely at both your Mac and the power outlet. If youre using a MagSafe power adapter, make sure the LED on your power adapter is yellow or green. Then, try starting up in safe mode again.

If your Mac repeatedly restarts or shuts down during safe mode, contact Apple Support, or consult with an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Genius for more help.


Is your Mac taking longer than usual to boot in Safe Mode?


This is normal.Your Mac performs a directory check of your startup disk as part of Safe Mode so it will take a significantly longer time than usual to reach the login screen or the desktop


3 ways of identifying if you?re started in Safe Mode

If you?re unsure as to whether or not you?re in Safe Mode, take note of the following signs that give it away.

1. Menu bar reads ?Safe Boot?

The first indication that you?re starting up in Safe Mode appears when you land on the login screen. If you?re in Safe Mode, the words ?Safe Boot? in red letters will appear in the menu bar in the upper right corner of the screen.


2. Slower overall performance

Past the login screen, you?ll notice slower overall performance. Graphics will no longer be accelerated as default drivers are loaded. The OS X menus, windows and the Dock appear solid even if Translucent Menu Bar is selected in System Preferences.

Your screen might blink or tear during the login process. OS X menus, the Dock, your desktop and other aspects of the user interface won?t have as many visual effects and translucency will be disabled.

And as mentioned further below, several OS X features might be unavailable to you in Safe Mode, like watching movies in the DVD Player app, capturing video, connecting to Wi-Fi networks and more.

3. Boot Mode in System Information reads ?Safe?

Another method of determining the status of your boot mode involves using the System Information application.

Step 1: Open System Information from Applications > Utilities. You can also choose About This Mac from the Apple menu and then click the System Report button in the Overview section.

Step 2: In the lefthand column, locate and click the Software section. You should see a couple related items listed on the right side of the System Information window.

If the Boot Mode is listed as ?Safe? you?re started in Safe Mode. If it reads ?Normal,? you?re in OS X?s normal-boot mode.


Some features arent available in safe mode

Some features of your Mac arent available when its started in safe mode, so after youre done using safe mode you should restart your computer normally.

For example, these features dont work in safe mode:

  • You cant play movies in DVD Player.
  • You cant capture video in iMovie and some other video apps.
  • Some audio input or output devices might not work.
  • Some USB, FireWire and Thunderbolt devices might not be available.
  • Wi-Fi networking might be limited or unavailable depending on the Mac and OS X version youre using.
Safe mode in OS X v10.5 or later also disables accelerated graphics. This makes the OS X menu bar appear solid even if "Translucent Menu Bar" is selected in System Preferences. Your screen might also "blink" or "tear" during login when your Mac is started in safe mode.

Safe mode in OS X v10.6 or later also disables File Sharing.


Starting in safe mode without a keyboard

If your Mac doesnt have a keyboard available to start in safe mode but you have remote access to it, you can configure the Mac to startup in safe mode using the command line.
Access the command line by either opening Terminal remotely, or by logging into the computer using SSH.

Use the following Terminal command and restart your Mac:

sudo nvram boot-args="-x"

Unfortunately it is a bit difficult to see if this is the case when the system is only displaying a gray progress bar; however, you can force the system to show you what is going on by having it boot to both Safe and Verbose modes at the same time.If you want to start in verbose mode as well, use this instead:

sudo nvram boot-args="-x -v"

To restart your Mac normally from Safe Mode.After using safe mode, use this Terminal command to return to a normal startup:

sudo nvram boot-args=""

The Xbox One may be expensive out of the box, and have a monthly fee for online play, but Xbox One gamers get Kinect included in the cost of the console, and they get free games every month with Xbox Live Gold - games that they can keep even if they unsubscribe from the service.

In contrast, PS4 gamers pay less for their console up front, and arent obliged to subscribe to PS+. The PS+ service also includes free games, but youd better play them while youre still subscribed, because if you cancel the subscription you lose access to the games.

PC gamers pay the most to "buy in" to gaming, but they enjoy better performance. PC gamers have had super-high resolution games running at 60FPS, and with full modding support, for a long time now. They also enjoy huge discounts on downloadable games. While new console games cost œ40 on release day, and can remain fairly expensive for several months, PC Gamers can enjoy bundle sales which offer several games for a few pounds, and Steam sales with AAA titles at 75% off. The problem with PC gaming is the high initial cost of entry, and the extra maintenance workload required with installing drivers and keeping the PC running well.

An ISO file, often called an ISO image, is a single file, perfect representation of an entire CD, DVD, or BD. The entire contents of a disc can be precisely duplicated in a single ISO file.

You can think of an ISO file like a box that holds all the parts to something that needs built - like a childs toy you might buy that requires assembly. The box that the toy pieces come in does you no good as an actual toy but the contents inside of it, once taken out and put together, become what youre actually wanting to use.

An ISO file is the same way. The file itself is no good unless it can be opened, assembled, and used.
The most common way to make use of an ISO file is to burn the ISO file to a CD, DVD, or BD disc. Its a different process than burning a bunch of music or document files to a disc because your CD/DVD/BD burning software must "assemble" the contents of the ISO file onto the disc.

Its a similar situation when burning an ISO to USB, something thats more common now that optical drives are becoming less common.

ISO image files are often used to distribute large programs over the Internet due to the fact that all of the programs files can be neatly contained as a single file - the ISO file.

Airplay IconAirPlay is an Apples proprietary audio and video streaming technology that Apple devices can use to wirelessly stream audio, video, device screens, and photos between Airplay enabled electronic devices. This is similar to the way you might connect to a streaming radio or video Web site, like Pandora or YouTube, except that everything is located on your local network rather than out on the Internet. Using AirPlay, you can play media from a single AirPlay-compatible source, like an iPhone, iPad or any Mac or Windows PC running iTunes and stream it to multiple AirPlay-compatible devices on the same network, including TVs and Airplay enabled stereo systems.

AirPlay was originally implemented only in Apples software and devices, it was called AirTunes and used for audio only.Apple has since licensed the AirPlay protocol stack as a third-party software component technology to manufacturer partners for them to use in their products in order to be compatible with Apples devices.It was first released as AirTunes on June 7, 2004 and then Apple changed its name to AirPlay on September 1, 2010.

There are two types of AirPlay devices, Senders and Receivers.

Senders - Those that send audiovisual content

AirPlay sender devices include any Mac or windows computers running iTunes, and iOS devices such as iPhones, iPods, and iPads running iOS 4.2 or greater. OS X Mountain Lion ( Version 10.8) supports display mirroring via AirPlay on systems containing 2nd generation Intel Core processors or later.There are third party streamers too such as AirParrot, AirMyPC, AirFlick, AirFoil, AirFloat and TuneBlade.

In OS X El Capitan, you can stream certain videos to your Apple TV from Safari or QuickTime Player (version 10). Just click the AirPlay icon?if available?in the playback controls, then choose your Apple TV.

As of iOS 4.3, third-party apps may send compatible audio and video streams over AirPlay.The iTunes Remote app on iOS can be used to control media playback and select AirPlay streaming receivers for iTunes running on a Mac or PC.

Receivers - Those capable of receiving the content and rendering it on displays and speakers

AirPlay receiver devices include AirPort Express (which includes a combined analog and optical S/PDIF audio output connector), Apple TV, and third party speakers. With the open source implementations of the AirPlay protocol any computer can now be turned into an AirPlay receiver.

The capabilities of each device also depend on whether you?re streaming ?to? or ?from? that device. One key point: you can?t use AirPlay between mobile devices (your iPad to iPhone, for example). iPhones, iPads and computers are senders only. Receivers are AirPort Express and Apple TV.

But with the help of some third party apps like Airfoil and AirFloat you could beam your audio from your iPhone to an iPod touch or iPad.These app let you use another iOS device as an AirPlay speaker

And thus Apple has recently removed Airfoil Speakers Touch by Rogue Amoeba and AirFloat by The Famous Software Company from the iTunes App Store for using AirPlay APIs in a way Apple did not intend them to be used.These apps basically.


However, because not all third-party receivers implement Apples DRM encryption, some media, such as iTunes Stores own rights-protected music (Apples own "FairPlay" encryption), YouTube and Netflix, cannot stream to those devices or software. On Apple TV starting with firmware 6.0, the "FairPlay" encryption scheme is enforced and sending devices not supporting it cannot be used.

AirPlay wireless technology is integrated into speaker docks, AV receivers, and stereo systems from companies such as Bose,iHome,Yamaha, Philips, Marantz, Bowers & Wilkins, Pioneer, Sony, and Denon.Song titles, artists, album names, elapsed and remaining time, and album artwork can appear on AirPlay-enabled speakers with graphical displays. Often these receivers are built to only support the audio component of AirPlay, much like AirTunes.

Bluetooth devices (headsets, speakers) that support the A2DP profile also appear as AirPlay receivers when paired with an iOS device, although Bluetooth is a device-to-device protocol that does not rely on a wireless network access point.
There are third party receivers such as AirServer, Reflector 2 and TuneAero (audio).

Drawbacks of AirPlay

AirPlay works over your Wi-Fi network and, as we know, its not always reliable. Some AirPlay speakers may experience occasional dropout and even a few complete disconnections. However, unlike with Bluetooth streaming, your music doesnt get compressed, so it should sound better, depending on the quality of the speaker youre streaming to.

Despite these great features, AirPlay also has its limitations, Some of the Major point to be noted are:
  1. Multiple receivers streaming from the same application all play the same content.
  2. Only one app can use AirPlay at a time.
  3. Video sharing is only available to Apple TV Device.An Apple TV must have an internet connection in order to play copy-protected video content.


To stream to multiple devices, you have to use your computer-based iTunes music collection as the audio source. For whatever reason, running iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC provides more flexibility for AirPlay. Using iTunes on your computer, you can stream music to multiple AirPlay receivers or speakers throughout your network (say, an Apple TV in the living room,AirPlay-enabled stereo in your bedroom and a Zeppelin Air in the upstairs bedroom), and control their volume levels independently as well.

You currently cant stream different music to different rooms. True multiroom audio systems like Sonos ZonePlayer allow you to stream different music sources or playlists to different rooms simultaneously. Not so with AirPlay. Currently, you can only access and stream one source at a time.

As a basic example of how you might use AirPlay, suppose you have an iPhone and you launch iTunes on it to listen to your favorite tracks. Since youll be walking around the house a lot during the day, you decide to turn on an AirPlay-enabled stereo in your bedroom and your WiFi-connected Apple TV in your living room. To make sure theres no break in the music as you move from room to room, you go back to your iPhone and select the stereo and Apple TV as recipients of your iPhones music stream. Since theyre all accessible by network connections, and they can all use AirPlay, all you have to do is turn on the receivers, click to start streaming from the source and enjoy your music.

Requirements for using AirPlay

If you go to Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, and dont see the option to "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available," your Mac doesnt meet these requirements.
Minimum requirements if your Mac and Apple TV are on the same network:
  • Apple TV (2nd generation or later) with the latest Apple TV software
  • For mirroring your display or extending your desktop, any of the following Mac computers with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8 or later:
  • iMac (Mid 2011 or later)
  • Mac mini (Mid 2011 or later)
  • MacBook (Early 2015 or later)
  • MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or later)
  • MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or later)
  • Mac Pro (Late 2013 or later)
Minimum requirements for peer-to-peer AirPlay, which lets visitors quickly and easily connect their Mac or iOS device to your Apple TV without gaining passwords and connecting to the Wi-Fi network:


  • Apple TV (3rd generation rev A, model A1469 or later) with the latest Apple TV software
  • A Mac (2012 or later) with OS X Yosemite v10.10 or later

To use AirPlay, you need one of these devices:
  • iPhone 4 or later. iPhone 4s or later for AirPlay Mirroring.
  • iPad, iPad mini. iPad 2 or later for AirPlay Mirroring.
  • iPod touch (4th generation or later). iPod touch (5th generation or later) for AirPlay Mirroring.
You can stream content to these devices:
  • For photos and videos: Apple TV (2nd generation or later).
  • For music: Apple TV, AirPort Express, or AirPlay-enabled speakers.
If you want to stream iTunes Store content, you also need an Internet connection.


AirPlay Audio Transmission Technology

Earlier AirPlay was using your LAN router to enable communication between your Wireless Music System and AirPlay capable device. Audio/Video was sent wirelessly from the sender device to the receiver device via the network router, so the communication was not direct (peer-to-peer). Therefore, in order for audio/ Video to be sent between the device and the Wireless Music System they must have connected to the same wireless network router.But with the recent iOS update Apple has made peer-to-peer AirPlay possible.

With peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device and Apple TV dont have to be on the same Wi-Fi network. To use peer-to-peer AirPlay, you need one of these devices with iOS 8 or later:



  • iPhone 5 or later
  • iPad mini or iPad (4th generation or later)
  • iPod touch (5th generation or later)
  • You can stream content to your Apple TV (3rd generation rev A, model A1469 or later).


Make sure that both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. If you want to stream iTunes Store content, you also need an Internet connection.


How to Stream All Mac Audio/Video Via AirPlay


Since OS X Mountain Lion ( Version 10.8 ), users have been able to stream their Mac display via AirPlay, but the icon in the menu bar that controls that feature requires video to be streamed in addition to audio.You can mirror your Macs display or extend it to Apple TV.
